Henry Martens

This engraving represents The British and Native troops entering the breach lad by Captain Leith, Bombay Fusiliers by Artist John Harris after Henry Martens.


John Harris the Younger (1791-1873) was a mezzotint, aquatint engraver and lithographer of sporting subjects, and a figure painter. Born in London he was the son of the painter John Harris. He exhibited paintings at the RA, BI, SS (1822-52). Known particularly for his colour aquatint sporting prints.

Henry Martens (fl:1828 - 1860) was a military artist.
